PAINTING WITH IRON AND BRONZE -Kelli Clarkson- In November was a day of fun and experimentation!

 

~Introduction to Silk Scarf Painting with Black Hills artist Shirley Jane Hobbs - held in May and October!

 

 

~~ Kid's Mosaic Class was in September - presented by Lisa Howard

Children, grades 3 and up, each made a fabulous mosaic after school in The Gallery classroom, **Thank you to Versatile Carpets for providing the supplies for this class.

 

Artist Receptions

We have receptions for our featured artists!

• In May the reception was for Sarah Rogers and Ray Tysdal.
• In June the reception was for Jenny Braig and Rede Ballard.
• In September the reception was for Steve Babbitt and Richard Hicks
• In November there was a reception for Tom Waugh and Tom Coronato
• On December 12th there will be a reception for Dorothy Snowden and Clay Dykstra
  

The Fall Gala Art Auction was a great success - Thank you!

The Fall Gala was a fun evening for all with food from the Bay Leaf Cafe and entertainment provided by Steve Thorpe. Patrons were able to bid on pieces donated by artists: Sarah Rogers, Jennifer Braig, Marie Louise Tesch, Amy Braig-Lindstrom, Steve Babbitt, Jerry Rawlings, Roy Kramlich, Clay Dykstra, Lisa Howard, Elissa Nesheim, Shawna Norman, Mick Harrison, Richard Hicks, Anna Achtziger, Heidi Watson, Paul Horsted, Marion Toillion, Carol Lee Hilgemann, Rosemaria Miller, Richard Dubois, Mary B. Hunt, Shawn Funk , Louise Sigle, Kelli Clarkson, Sandra Newman, Lynn Thorpe, Rede Ballard, Jessica Benning, Tom Coronato, Cherise Feser, James Canfield, Alana Greiner, Marilyn Gullickson, Bob Wilson, David Whitlock, Gary Steinley, Crystal Kryza, Nate Clark, Dorothy Snowden, Shelly Stoltenberg. Gala attendees took home beautiful works of art and their generous support of the Spearfish Arts Center's Fall Gala will allow our non-profit organization to continue providing visual arts opportunities to the community.

Logo Contest Winner- Artemis House

The Spearfish Arts Center Gallery hosted a contest for area artists to create a new logo for Victims of Violence Intervention Program also known as Artemis House. The logo reflects their new motto: "Your Journey, Our Mission". The winner has been chosen: Mari Scott, Whitewood, South Dakota. Congratulations to Mari and thank you to everyone who submitted entries.
