32nd Annual Festival in the Park: General Information

The Festival in the Park is one of the largest outdoor summer arts festivals in the upper Midwest. Over 30,000 people attend this annual event held the third weekend in July. The Festival features over 200 craft, arts and food booths with an emphasis on hand made arts and crafts. Other features of the Festival include free on stage entertainment through out the each day and a refreshment garden with its own evening entertainment.

Festival in the Park is sponsored by the Spearfish Center for the Arts and Humanities d/b/a Spearfish arts Center, a non-profit organization and all proceeds are used to produce the annual festival and assist other arts activities in the greater Spearfish area.

The 2009 Festival will be held on July 17,18 and 19.

FRIDAY - JULY 17, 2009 * 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

“Limited Edition”- Entrance to the park, to shop early and enjoy special entertainment, will be limited to patrons with wristband.

Abbey Road Band - South Dakota's Phenomenal Beatle's Tribute Band will entertain at the bandshell from 6 to 8 pm. For more information go to:abbeyroadband.com

The Festival in the Park is located in the beautiful setting of the Spearfish City Park. Parking is limited around the park, but bus shuttles are available on a regular time schedule from several down town locations and parking areas. There will be shuttle bus service on Friday evening , Saturday & Sunday from all pickup points– every 30 minutes.

City Parking Lot on 7th St.
Passion Play Lower Parking Lot off
of Meier Avenue

 

REMEMBER: NO PETS ALLOWED in the park during the Festival in the Park

Camping is also available in the Spearfish City Park campground next to the Festival location.

We received a grant from MDU to start a recycling program for Festival in the Park and we have two wonderful volunteers that are working on this project. If you would like to help with our new recycling program please call 642-7973.
