July 10,11 & 12 are the dates of the Children's Theatre performances of "Sleeping Beauty KIDS" in the Matthews Opera House Theater. Show times will be 7pm on Friday and Saturday and 2 pm on Sunday.  Tickets will be $5.00. Children 5 and under free.

The Spearfish Arts Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Peter Young of the Redwater Group, Copenhagen, London and the Black Hills, July 8th at noon at the Matthews Opera House.  Dr. Young’s topic will be “Risk, Globalization and the Challenge Ahead”.

The Spearfish Arts Center Gallery is celebrating its 5th Birthday with a reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday July 10th to honor all The Gallery artists.

July 20-25 are the dates for the Children's Theatre Workshop at the Matthews Opera House.

Saturday, July 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Spearfish Arts Center will host a Drum Making workshop in The Gallery Classroom.  The instructor will be local artist Eric Jones.

Spearfish Arts Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Janeen Larsen,
Professor of Music at BHSU on August 12th at 12:00 p.m.  Dr Larsen's topic will be "The Jazz-Classical Connection".

Auditions for "Count Dracula" will be held September 8 & 9 in the Matthews Opera House.  Time to be announced at a later date.

The 2009 Festival in the Park will be held July 17,18 and 19.  Please check our Festival in the Park page for more information.

October 16,17,18,23,24,25,30,31 & November 1 will be the dates of the Community Theatre performances of "Count Dracula" by Ted Tiller in the Matthews Opera House Theater.

December 4,5 & 11,12 at 7:30 p.m. and December 6 and 13 at 2 p.m. the Spearfish Arts Center Community Theatre will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, by Barbara Robinson.
